Hopkinton - On November 14, 2008, EMC Corporation of Hopkinton, the world leader in infrastructure solutions was awarded the prestigious Above and Beyond Award for its superior programs supporting the company's military member employees. The award was presented to Mr. Jack Mollen, Senior Vice President for Human Resources, who stated, "A large number of EMC employees in the United States have served or are serving as citizen soldiers, and we are extremely proud of the bravery and dedication shown by these individuals. We understand the significant financial burden and stress the call into active duty puts on them and their families and ws're committed to support them as they serve our country". In addition, Mr. Mollen signed the ESGR Statement of Support certificate for EMC Corporation. On hand for the presentation were numerous company officials as well as members of the media. In addition, three uniformed military members from the workforce were on hand for the event. One of those, Brian Massey, is a member of the Air National Guard who said the following, "My first concern when facing deployment is always my family, particularly when I have to be away for a long period of time. During these difficult times, EMC has always been there, providing the support that gives me and my family peace of mind about our finances and benefits". The company employs over 39,000 people and counts 50 members of the National Guard & Reserve components among their ranks. Ms. Delia Vetter, a senior human resources official was presented a Certificate of Appreciation for her efforts in organizing the event. On hand for the Massachusetts ESGR were, John Pelose, Dave St. Germain, Ski Borowski and Roger Fortin.
