Cambridge Health Alliance receives Patriotic Employers Award

Somerville - On December 2, 2008, MAESGR Member Joseph W. Mercuri presented the Patriot Award to Mr. Charles E. Manry II of the Cambridge Health Alliance. Specialist (SPC) Jeffrey Farrell of the Massachusetts Army National Guard nominated his civilian employer for the award based on its support of members of the  Massachusetts Army National Guard. 

Cambridge Health Alliance is an academic public health system that provides comprehensive medical services at three hospitals and more than twenty primary care practices. With over 2,000 employees, volunteers and hundreds of Harvard-affiliated faculty the organization serves nearly 400,000 residents in Boston's metro-north region. It has locations in Cambridge, Chelsea, Everett, Malden, Revere, Somerville, and Winthrop, MA. Their Volunteer Health Advisor program includes 200 specially-trained volunteers who spread health information in churches, hair salons, and community centers. This effort is so successful it was recognized by the American Hospital Association as a national model.
