WEST SPRINGFIELD, MA. September 25, 2009. Ralph Colby, the Managing Director at Titan USA in West Springfield, received both the Above and Beyond and Patriot Award during a brief ceremony at the facility. Employee, and Army National Guardsman, SGT Dalila Navarro submitted Mr. Colby for the Patriot Award. SGT Navarro stated "My boss deserves this recognition because he was never negative about any of my drill dates, AT's, and deployment. Whenever I had a mission he always understood why I had to go. During my drills and state activations I was still eligible for benefits. I have never felt so appreciated in my life and for a soldier to receive that kind of recognition during these hard economical times is a wonderful gift." As a result of these outstanding accomplishments and outstanding support, Titan USA was also awarded the prestigious Above and Beyond Award by the MA ESGR Committee.

The National Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) is a Department of Defense agency established in 1972. The mission of ESGR is to gain and maintain employer support for Guard and Reserve service by recognizing outstanding support, increasing awareness of the USERRA law of 1994 and resolving conflicts through mediation. The MA Committee has more than 35 volunteers dedicated to helping every "Citizen Soldier". On hand representing MAESGR was Ombudsman Director and Western MA Area Chair Earl Bonett.
