BOSTON, MA. CORPORATE REAL ESTATE FIRM PENS STATEMENT OF SUPPORT AND IS HONORED WITH THE PRESTIGIOUS SEVEN SEALS AWARD

By Bill Napert, Jr. Public Affairs Director, MA Committee, ESGR

BOSTON, MA. October 5, 2009. 53 State Street, located in the heart of Historic Boston's Financial District, was the venue today for a signing of a Statement of Support and the presentation of the coveted Seven Seals Award. The award was recommended by Mrs. Jennifer Campagna, Executive Assistant to Mr. Robert Richards, President of The Richards Barry Joyce & Partners Real Estate, LLC. Mrs. Campagna is also the wife of  BU-1 (SCW) (Builder First Class, ((E-6)) Seabee Combat Warfare Specialist) Paul Campagna, a builder/fighter with U. S. Naval Mobile Construction Battalion Twenty Seven, (NMCB-27) located in Brunswick, Maine.

Petty Officer Campagna recently returned with the battalion from an out of CONUS deployment. Through the caring, concern and generosity of the 40 or so employees of Richards Barry Joyce & Partners, BU-1 Campagna received two or three "care packages, per week for him and also to share with his fellow Seabees. Although the company does not employ any Guard or Reserve Members at this time, Mr. Richards proudly signed A Statement of Support and certainly was very surprised and honored with the Seven Seals Award.

During one of many support dinners with the Navy Wives Ms. Carmen Hernandez, Company Vice President of Marketing, listened as the ladies described themselves as The "Honey Bees" of NMCB-27. As a matter of fact, Jennifer and some of the women had come up with a few designs which was a take off of the tee-shirts their deployed sailors wore. Ms. Hernandez brought their ideas back to the department to finesse the brain storming session. Without Jennifer's knowledge, Carmen went around to all the employees and sought donations to "Adopt a Honey Bee" to cover the cost of the t-shirts. This was very touching for all the wives and daughters of quite a few families as they wear their pink t-shirts proudly.

The National Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) is a Department of Defense agency established in 1972. The mission of ESGR is to gain and maintain employer support for Guard and Reserve service by recognizing outstanding support,  increasing awareness of the USERRA law of 1994 and resolving conflicts through mediation. The MA Committee has more than 35 volunteers dedicated to helping every "Citizen Soldier". On hand representing MAESGR was Eastern Area Chair John M. Pelose.
