NATICK, MA. October 21, 2009. The Above & Beyond Award for outstanding support of its military member employee force was presented today to Mr. Dennis Forde, Manager of Comcast Cable Company of Natick, on behalf on the Company's outstanding performance. Mr. Forde was previously nominated for the Patriot Award by Master Sergeant Richard Foye, a member of the Army National Guard and an employee of Comcast. Master Sergeant Foye stated in the nomination of his employer and of Mr. Forde that: "Comcast and Mr. Forde have consistently demonstrated practices in support of the Guard & Reserve." This Above and Beyond Support included: Pay Differential Program, keeping in touch via e-mails and packages to deployed personnel, continuation of all benefits during military service as well as constantly keeping in touch with family members during long-term deployment periods! The presentation today was attended by numerous members of the Comcast Staff.   

The National Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) is a Department of Defense agency established in 1972. The mission of ESGR is to gain and maintain employer support for Guard and Reserve service by recognizing outstanding support, increasing awareness of the USERRA law of 1994 and resolving conflicts through mediation. The MA Committee has more than 35 volunteers dedicated to helping every "Citizen Soldier". On hand representing MAESGR were volunteer, and Awards Director, Roger Fortin and Program Support Specialist David St. Germain.
