 R. B. LANDSCAPE RECEIVES THE PATRIOT AWARD

 

EAST LONGMEADOW, MA. October 30, 2009. The owner of a family landscaping business was honored with the presentation of the Patriot Award today. Mr. Robert Black  was nominated for the recognition by his son Raymond Black, who is an employee and also a member of the Army National Guard. In his nomination, Specialist (SPC) Black said that his father is very supportive of his military career and when his military duties take him away from the landscaping business, his father hires someone to fill in. Robert Black had previously signed a Statement of Support on behalf on his business.  

The National Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) is a Department of Defense agency established in 1972. The mission of ESGR is to gain and maintain employer support for Guard and Reserve service by recognizing outstanding support, increasing awareness of the USERRA law of 1994 and resolving conflicts through mediation. The MA Committee has more than 35 volunteers dedicated to helping every "Citizen Soldier". On hand representing MAESGR were Western MA Chair and Ombudsman Director Earl Bonett and Staff Member Bill Hebert.
