ONE OF THE NATION’S LARGEST MANUFACTURES OF HI-TECH SURGICAL INSTRUMENTS RECEIVES THREE PATRIOT AWARDS

MANSFIELD, MA. November 17, 2009. Covidien is more than a leading provider of medical devices, supplies and pharmaceuticals. It is a $10 billion company with over 40,000 employees who are passionate about helping doctors, nurses, and other medical industry professionals to be the most effective they can be. They are also a company who cares about their Guard Members and Reservists. Covidien, formerly Tyco Health, of Dublin, Ireland, with its main U.S. Headquarters in Mansfield, MA. brought together over 150 of their employees, for the presentation of Patriot Awards to Michelle Champoux, Director of Adjustments Division, Jennifer Grady, Manager, Adjustments Division and Diane Desrosiers, Supervisor of Adjustments.

The three awardees were nominated by Sergeant (SGT)  Richard J. Carroll, an employee of Covidien, who praised the three recipients for their support and understanding of his military career and overseas deployments. Carroll stated: "They organized going away parties, sent care packages for myself and my unit while I was deployed. My immediate supervisor takes a genuine interest in my military career as well as my position here at Covidien. She does a lot of shuffling to reschedule my time to attend drills and training, In fact, I wish I could give all of my coworkers an award as they pick up my share of the workload and fill in without complaint and treat me great!"
