  TELL TOOL INC. PRESIDENT RECEIVES THE PATRIOT AWARD AND PENS A STATEMENT OF SUPPORT

 

WESTFIELD, MA. November 16, 2009. David Smith, the President of Tell Tool Inc., was presented the Patriot Award at the company's Westfield, MA facility today. He was nominated for this honor by Jason Roberts who, in addition to being the company's Materials Manager, is also a Captain (CPT) in the MA Air National Guard (ANG). CPT Roberts said that Mr. Smith is very supportive of his military career. Mr. Smith responded that he feels it's his responsibility to help Jason, and other employees who are members of the various Reserve Forces as they are protecting our nation. This support of the military was demonstrated as President Smith signed a Statement of Support on behalf of the company. 

In addition to Tell Tool Inc. employees and MA ESGR representatives, this ceremony was attended by three leaders from the nearby 104th Fighter Wing, a unit of the MA ANG. These officers were Major Neal Byrne and Captains Pete Carr and Matt Mutti. Tell Tool Inc. manufactures parts that are used on the F15 aircraft which is based at the 104th.   

Tell Tool Inc. was founded in Westfield, Massachusetts in 1967. Under the leadership of its two founders, Paul Drewski and William Weber, it has grown into a dynamic and progressive company of 100 employees. The company concentrates on the manufacture of aircraft and spacecraft parts, from small levers and components in the beginning, to their current production of complex machined castings, forgings and wrought material.   

The National Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR)) is a Department of Defense agency established in 1972. The mission of ESGR is to gain and maintain employer support for Guard and Reserve service by recognizing outstanding support, increasing awareness of the USERRA law of 1994 and resolving conflicts through mediation. The MA Committee has more than 40 volunteers dedicated to helping every "Citizen Soldier". On hand representing MAESGR were Volunteer Peter Cinq Mars, Western MA Chair and Ombudsman Director Earl Bonett and Staff Member Bill Hebert.
