  OLD COLONY FACILITY CHIEFS RECEIVE TWO PATRIOT AWARDS

 

BRIDGEWATER, MA. November 19, 2009. On this absolutely beautiful New England Fall day, MAESGR Staff Member, Dave St. Germain, made a surprise visit to the Old Colony Correctional Center in Bridgewater, MA. The purpose of his visit was to honor the Superintendent of the Facility, Mr. Steve O'Brien and Watch Captain Peter Pascucci during the weekly staff meeting of key personnel from the prison administration.   

The awards were requested by Sergeant (SGT) Jose M.Pimental who is also a member of the MA Army National Guard. SGT Pimental had recently returned from deployment to the Middle East. Superintendent O'Brien has two sons who are members of the Massachusetts Army National Guard. Mr. O'Brien stated: "I know from a very personal stand point how important it is to support my employees who are members of the National Guard & Reserve!"  

The National Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) is a Department of Defense agency established in 1972. The mission of ESGR is to gain and maintain employer support for Guard and Reserve service by recognizing outstanding support, increasing awareness of the USERRA law of 1994 and resolving conflicts through mediation. The MA Committee has more than 35 volunteers dedicated to helping every "Citizen Soldier". On hand representing MAESGR was Program Support Specialist David St. Germain.
