HOLYOKE, MA. November 30, 2009. Management
and employees at the JC Penney store at the Holyoke Mall at
Ingleside took a short break from the hectic holiday shopping season
to participate in the presentation of Patriot Awards to two managers.
Store Manager David King and Department Manager Karen Fortier were the
recipients of the honored awards. Both honorees were nominated by
Krissa Fondakowski who in addition to being an employee at the store,
is also Senior Airman (SrA) in the MA Air National Guard (MAANG). To further demonstrate
the organization's commitment to the members of the military's Reserve
Forces, Mr. King signed a Statement of Support on behalf of the
Holyoke JC Penney facility in front of the gathering of associates.

The National Committee for Employer Support of
the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) is a Department of Defense agency
established in 1972. The mission of ESGR is to gain and maintain
employer support for Guard and Reserve service by recognizing
outstanding support, increasing awareness of the USERRA law of 1994
and resolving conflicts through mediation. The MA Committee has more
than 35 volunteers dedicated to helping every "Citizen Soldier".
On hand representing MAESGR were Western MA Area Chair and Ombudsman
Director Earl Bonett and Staff member Bill Hebert.
