WOBURN, MA. December 01, 2009. A very well known and respected family owned business here in the "Bay State" was honored today with the prestigious Above and Beyond Award. David Normandin, the dynamic, patriotic and enthusiastic Operations Officer of Newpro Operating LLC accepted the Award for this supportive company. This is the second time in recent weeks that this energy conscious company has been recognized for their Guard and Reserve support. Newpro has also received the Patriot Award and has signed a Statement of Support that they proudly display at the very front of the company's reception area.  

Established in 1945 in a small store front in Medford, MA and now  headquartered in central Massachusetts, Newpro is a very large company which spreads from Northeastern Massachusetts out to the Springfield area and down into Cape Cod. Among its employees is Specialist Ronald Pazienza of the Army National Guard. The Specialist wrote to MAESGR and said: "After I had just started this job, I received deployment orders to the Caribbean Sea Area. The company was sad to see me deploy but supported me through multiple additional training periods in preparation for deployment. Everyone in the company helped to ease my departure and to let me know they truly cared." 

Three generations of the Cogliani family are working to maintain the company reputation for excellence. The owner and President of this LLC, Mr. Nick Cogliani, has guided Newpro into a position as one of the top replacement window marketers in the country. Ms. Mary Cogliani, Nick's mom, works in the business as Director of Public Relations and Nick's son Anthony has recently joined the family business in the sales department.   

The National Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) is a Department of Defense agency established in 1972. The mission of ESGR is to gain and maintain employer support for Guard and Reserve service by recognizing outstanding support, increasing awareness of the USERRA law of 1994 and resolving conflicts through mediation. The MA Committee has more than 35 volunteers dedicated to helping every "Citizen Soldier". On hand representing MAESGR were South Eastern Area Chair and Senior Ombudsman Joachim-Ingo "Ski" Borowski, Awards Director Mr. Roger Fortin and Program Support Specialist Mr. David St. Germain.
