     LARGEST SECURITY FIRM IN THE NORTH EAST HONORED WITH THE ABOVE AND BEYOND AWARD

WALPOLE, MA. December 14, 2009. Apollo Security, an organization spread over seven northeastern area states was presented the Above & Beyond Award for it's consistent and long-standing support of The Guard and Reserve. Of their more than 1,200 local employees, they have over 75 Guard & Reserve Members. Apollo supervisor, Greg Pais received the Patriot Award this past September. The Above & Beyond Award was accepted by (Retired Combat Fighter Pilot and Vietnam Veteran) Company CEO Richard Ryder. COL Ryder stated; "We in Apollo leadership take it as a duty to support our employees in the pursuit of their military careers. We actively seek out personnel with a military background and appreciate their highly skilled abilities, their personal initiative and responsibilities, leadership qualities and their devotion to duty. "   

Apollo Security corporate headquarters is located in Walpole, MA and is owned by Dennis Crowley who is also a combat veteran of the Vietnam War. He and Mr. Ryder became close friends "In Country". When Dennis was heading home to his family from DaNang, Vietnam in late 1966 after finishing his one year tour, he and Dick pledged to "do something together again in the future". Twenty-five years later, they co-founded Apollo Security. On hand for the presentation were 15 members of the Apollo work staff including Chief Master Sergeant Jeff Sherwin, U.S. Air Force Reserve, Sergeant Brian Scott, U.S. Army Reserve, and Lance Corporal  Kristofer Jenkins, U.S. Marine Corps Reserve.   

The National Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) is a Department of Defense agency established in 1972. The mission of ESGR is to gain and maintain employer support for Guard and Reserve service by recognizing outstanding support, increasing awareness of the USERRA law of 1994 and resolving conflicts through mediation. The MA Committee has more than 35 volunteers dedicated to helping every "Citizen Soldier". On hand representing MAESGR were South Eastern Area Chair and Senior Ombudsman Joachim-Ingo "Ski" Borowski, Ombudsman Bob Pomeroy, Awards Director Roger Fortin and Program Support Specialist David St. Germain.
