BOSTON, MA. January 21, 2010. Today, MA ESGR members John Pelose, Roger Fortin and David St. Germain ventured out to historic Beacon Hill. In one of the oldest and most recognized historic State House buildings in the United States of America, the General Treasurer of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts penned an ESGR Statement of Support and received the coveted Patriot Award. State Treasurer, Timothy P. Cahill was nominated for the Award by Sergeant First Class (SFC) Brian Turnbull, a  member of the U.S. Army Reserve. SFC Turnbull is also an employee in the Treasurer's Office. In his nomination statement, Sergeant Turnbull stated; "Over the last seven years and currently while I am serving on active duty, Treasurer Cahill has been very supportive of me and of my Army Reserve career! Both he and the entire staff have made business decisions and accommodations in order to let me serve the Army in this time of national need. He has also aggressively promoted and secured state bonuses for all Massachusetts residents who have or are currently serving on active duty since Desert Shield/Storm! The bonus system has included all Reserve and Guard Members who have been mobilized."

Immediately following the presentation, Treasurer Cahill lauded all Massachusetts Warriors of every service and he proudly signed the ESGR Statement of Support, A MAESGR Certificate of Appreciation was then presented to one of Treasurer Cahill's staff members, Ms. Christina Anders. Ms. Anders worked diligently to organize and to schedule the event.
