                AUTO DEALER’S SERVICE MANAGER HONORED WITH THE PATRIOT AWARD

 

                     

  WEST SPRINGFIELD, MA. February 15, 2010. Employees and customers at the Balise Honda Showroom took a short break from the traditionally hectic President's Day activities experienced by car dealers to witness the presentation of the Patriot Award to Michael Yuscavich. Mr. Yuscavich is the Service Manager at the facility and is the supervisor of Scott P. Randall. Mr. Randall is also a Private First Class (PFC) in the MA Army National Guard. In his nomination of his boss PFC Randall said: "In November I was asked to represent my unit as soldier of the year. Three days before the board met I still needed to square away my uniform. I asked my supervisor if I could take a few hours off which he allowed. It was important to me as it enabled me to win the Battalion Soldier of the Year Award. I want to thank him for doing this."  

In March of 1929 company founder Paul E. Balise opened a Chevrolet dealership and Used Car Outlet in Chicopee. In August of 1971 Balise opened one of the first Honda automobile dealerships in North America. Today, Balise is one of the largest retailers of new and used automobiles in New England. Headquartered in West Springfield MA., The Balise Auto Group employs over 800 associates at facilities in Massachusetts, Connecticut and Rhode Island and is very supportive of all their guard and reserve associates.   

The National Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) is a Department of Defense agency established in 1972. The mission of ESGR is to gain and maintain employer support for Guard and Reserve service by recognizing outstanding support, increasing awareness of the USERRA law of 1994 and resolving conflicts through mediation. The MA Committee has more than 35 volunteers dedicated to helping every "Citizen Soldier". On hand representing MAESGR were Western MA Chair and Ombudsman Director Earl Bonett and Staff Member Bill Hebert.
