RAYNHAM, MA. February 15, 2010. Preferred Freezer Services Inc. is a private company with only twelve employees specializing in Refrigerated Warehousing and Storage. Today at their facility located in Raynham, MA Mr. Scott Brown accepted the Patriot Award on behalf of the company. He was nominated by Adam Blunt who is also a First Sergeant (1SG) in the U. S. Army Reserve. 1SG Blunt wrote in his nomination: "During the last 16 months, my duty as First Sergeant has required me to miss work on many occasions in order for me to deal with issues in my company and also to do all the work associated with my position!" He further stated that: "Scott has been tremendously supportive of this need and has never made it an issue. Often, this time away from the job falls on Friday. Friday is normally our busiest day of the week. I just want to tell him how much I appreciate all he does for me, and how it allows me to give my full attention to my soldiers when they need it!" Preferred Freezer Services Inc. had previously signed a Statement of Support.   

The National Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) is a Department of Defense agency established in 1972. The mission of ESGR is to gain and maintain employer support for Guard and Reserve service by recognizing outstanding support, increasing awareness of the USERRA law of 1994 and resolving conflicts through mediation. The MA Committee has more than 35 volunteers dedicated to helping every "Citizen Soldier". On hand representing MAESGR were Volunteer Roger Fortin and Program Support Specialist David St. Germain.
