MANSFIELD, MA. March 1, 2010. The Covidien Corporation of Dublin, Ireland, with its main U.S. Headquarters in Mansfield, MA was honored again today with the coveted Above and Beyond Award. After reviewing company policies, The Massachusetts Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve decided that Covidien is a company that truly cares about their Guard and Reserve employees. There are quite a few members of the Guard & Reserve counted among its work force. Its pay and benefits program together with its military policies include several outstanding initiatives on behalf of the military work force. Mr. Michael Dunford, Senior Vice President for Human Resources accepted the Award on behalf of the Corporation. Mr. Dunford is a former member of the USMC Reserve. He stated; "I am well aware of how important family and job security are to the deployed soldier! Our organization will stand behind them 100%." Covidien Corporation has signed a Statement of Support and various managers have received Patriot Awards.

The National Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) is a Department of Defense agency established in 1972.
