                 HOLLAND CO. MANAGER RECEIVES THE PATRIOT AWARD 

 

 

                     

  ADAMS, MA. March 3, 2010. Two MAESGR Committee members travelled to the picturesque valley town of Adams in beautiful Berkshire County, only 15 minutes from the New York and Vermont state boarders, to present a Patriot Award to Matt Holland. Mr. Holland is the grandson of the company's founder and the Production Supervisor at the Holland Company, Inc. He was nominated for this recognition by employee Jason Revett who is also a Specialist (SPC) in the Army National Guard. SPC Revett was not present at the ceremony due to military commitments. He was represented by his father, Richard Revett who is a retired Army veteran. Mr. Revett said his son was very thankful for the support his supervisor, and the entire company, has shown for his military career. Also at the award presentation was the Plant Manager Michael J. Badorini who spoke highly of the personal values Jason brings to the job.   

Since 1967, Holland Company has been a leading producer and supplier of Aluminum based products, such as Aluminum Sulfate, Polyaluminum Chloride, Sodium Aluminate, as well as Dry Alum, and Sodium Bisulfite. Holland Company Specialty Dry Alums are shipped throughout North America and to export markets. The company employs about 50 people.

The National Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) is a Department of Defense agency established in 1972. The mission of ESGR is to gain and maintain employer support for Guard and Reserve service by recognizing outstanding support, increasing awareness of the USERRA law of 1994 and resolving conflicts through mediation. The MA Committee has more than 40 volunteers dedicated to helping every "Citizen Soldier". On hand representing MAESGR were Western MA Chair and Ombudsman Director Earl Bonett and Staff Member Bill Hebert.
