DENNIS, MA. March 5, 2010. With five employees in attendance, Misters T. Varnum Philbrook & Kelly Philbrook accepted Patriot Awards while on a job site today. Both men were nominated by Army National Guard Sergeant (SGT) and employee Joshua Drohan. The SGT wrote in his nomination of his employers; "My bosses always adapt my work schedule to accommodate my various National Guard training meetings. In addition, I am always able to ask to go to various appointments at the VA without worry of recourse. It is always a pleasure working for the Philbrook's because they understand the unique inner workings of the military and appreciate the sacrifice I make for my country as a military member!"

The National Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) is a Department of Defense agency established in 1972. The mission of ESGR is to gain and maintain employer support for Guard and Reserve service by recognizing outstanding support, increasing awareness of the USERRA law of 1994 and resolving conflicts through mediation. The MA Committee has more than 40 volunteers dedicated to helping every "Citizen Soldier". On hand representing MAESGR were Volunteer Roger Fortin and Program Support Specialist David St. Germain.
