                            WORLD HEADQUARTERS OF A MEDICAL SUPPLY CORPORATION RECEIVES 3 PATRIOT AWARDS

 

 

                     

      BOSTON, MA. April 30, 2010. Army National Guard Captain (CPT) Stephen Pellerin is an employee of Boston Scientific Corporation.  He thought so much of, and had such high praise for his company, that he nominated three upper management people for Patriot Awards. In his nominations, CPT Pellerin wrote: "Boston Scientific is a model employer in the area of great support for their military member employees raising the bar for other companies to follow. Since my joining the National Guard, they have stood behind me 150%. I am proud to work for folks who understand the importance of the civilian soldier to the overall defense of the Nation." Accepting the awards were: David Sapienza, VP of Operations, Michael Butler, Director of Operations and Linda Downey, Operations Manager who was not present to accept the award.  

Boston Scientific makes medical supplies and devices used to diagnose and treat conditions in a variety of medical fields, with an emphasis on cardiology and cardiac rhythm management. It also makes devices used for gynecology and urology (endo-surgery group) and pain management (neuromodulation). Its 13,000 plus products, made in a dozen factories worldwide, include defibrillators, catheters, coronary and urethral stents, pacemakers, biopsy forceps and needles, and urethral slings. Boston Scientific markets its wares in more than 40 countries worldwide..

Boston Scientific sits on what was the Squantum Point Naval Air Station during WW II and just outside the facility one can view what remains of the old runway.  

The National Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) is a Department of Defense agency established in 1972. The mission of ESGR is to gain and maintain employer support for Guard and Reserve service by recognizing outstanding support, increasing awareness of the USERRA law of 1994 and resolving conflicts through mediation. The MA Committee has more than 40 volunteers dedicated to helping every "Citizen Soldier". On hand representing MAESGR were South Eastern Area Chair and Senior Ombudsman Joachim-Ingo "Ski" Borowski, Volunteer Roger Fortin and Program Support Specialist David St. Germain.
