                        SENIOR CARE HOME RECEIVES THE PATRIOT AWARD

 

 

                     

        MIDDLEBORO, MA. May 11, 2010. Nestled in a small town located in the Southeastern section of the "Bay State" is a 20 bed personal care facility that caters to their senior residents. The Hannah B. G. Shaw Home can provide just about every service needed to care for their clients. The home also provides for their employees as well. One of their managers, Mr. Robert H. Salomaa is also a Senior Master Sergeant (E-8) in the U. S. Air Force Reserve. He recommended his employer for The Patriot Award. Accepting the Award on behalf of the home was Mr. Ed Herrmann. With 6 other staff members present, Mr. Herrmann was presented the Award by Mrs. Kathy Salomaa. After he received the award, Mr. Herrmann said: "I'm proud to accept this really unexpected award, and it is certainly a pleasure to be presented the award by Bob Salomaa's wife, Kathy. Bob honors this organization as a manager of this facility and brings to us the core values of the U. S. Military." 

The National Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) is a Department of Defense agency established in 1972. The mission of ESGR is to gain and maintain employer support for Guard and Reserve service by recognizing outstanding support, increasing awareness of the USERRA law of 1994 and resolving conflicts through mediation. The MA Committee has more than 40 volunteers dedicated to helping every "Citizen Soldier". On hand representing MAESGR were Volunteer Roger Fortin and Program Support Specialist David St. Germain.
