STELLAR PERFORMANCE BY LOCAL EMPLOYER RESULTS IN PATRIOT AWARD

    MILLBURY, MA. June 9, 2010. John Snook, Vice President for Stellar Industries Corp. of Millbury MA, was awarded a Department of Defense Patriot Award by ESGR today for outstanding support to one of their employees who serve in the Massachusetts Army National Guard. In his nomination, Christopher Hackathorn spoke highly of his supervisor noting that Mr. Snook is very supportive and understanding when it comes to his National Guard duties and that Stellar Industries is very supportive of the Guard and Reserve and outwardly recognizes his military service.  

ESGR volunteer and Army National Guardsman Richard Reynolds presented the award in the presence of other employees including the company's President Ron Visser. Mr. Snook stated: "The acknowledgement should go to Chris. He's the one doing something special and we wouldn't be able to be here without brave men and women like him." 

Stellar Industries is a leader in the design and manufacture of precision machined and metalized submounts for laser diodes and photo detectors. Stellar Industries sells to the Telecom, Biomedical, and Defense Industries for custom products and services. Stellar's products include custom lapped and polished electronic grade ceramics composed of Alumina, Beryllium Oxide, Aluminum Nitride, or specialty ceramics. Stellar also supplies custom services for metalizations on these ceramics using a variety of thick film, thin film, refractory and Direct Bond Copper metalizations.  

The National Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) is a Department of Defense agency established in 197s. The mission of ESGR is to gain and maintain employer support for Guard and Reserve service by recognizing outstanding support, increasing awareness of the USERRA law of 1994 and resolving conflicts through mediation. The MA Committee has more than 40 volunteers dedicated to helping every "Citizen Soldier". On hand representing MA ESGR was ESGR Program Coordinator SFC Richard Reynolds.
