NEW BEDFORD, MA. June 2, 2010. The Day & Zimmermann Company delivers a broad spectrum of industrial, defense and workforce solutions to commercial and government customers. By providing customized outsourcing solutions and capabilities to their clientele, they help their customers build leadership positions in the various markets. They also practice what they promote. Mr. Algimantis Harrell is an employee with the firm and a Specialist (SPC) in the U. S. Army Reserve. He nominated his boss, Ms. Patricia Toomey for the Patriot Award. Ms. Toomey was presented the honor today at company headquarters. In addition to Ms. Toomey, Regional Manager James T. Doyle was also present at the ceremony. Both managers stated how the corporation backs its military members in carrying out their military obligations 150%. It actively recruits and employs Guard & Reserve members and is thrilled to have their experience and military values contributing their expertise to the company everyday. Both managers mentioned SPC Harrell praising his military bearing and job performance.

The National Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) is a Department of Defense agency established in 1972. The mission of ESGR is to gain and maintain employer support for Guard and Reserve service by recognizing outstanding support, increasing awareness of the USERRA law of 1994 and resolving conflicts through mediation. The MA Committee has more than 40 volunteers dedicated to helping every "Citizen Soldier". On hand representing MAESGR were Volunteer Roger Fortin and Program Support Specialist David St. Germain.
