DEDHAM, MA. June 7, 2010. More than 65 employees of the Progressive Insurance Company Call Center enthusiastically applauded as Jonathan Schroll, Sector Manager, received the Patriot Award from First Lieutenant (1LT) Matt Arthurs. Mr. Arthurs is also an employee of Progressive and a member of the MA Army National Guard. Mr. Schroll stated; "I am both honored and humbled to receive the award! All I did was what anyone would do in support of an employee going into harms way". 1LT Arthurs stated; "My employer allowed me to take additional time off from work before my deployment to spend with my family."

The Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) is a Department of Defense agency established in 1972. The mission of ESGR is to gain and maintain employer support for Guard and Reserve service by recognizing outstanding support, increasing awareness of the USERRA law of 1994 and resolving conflicts through mediation. The MA Field Office has more than 40 volunteers dedicated to helping every "Citizen Soldier". On hand representing MAESGR were South Eastern MA Area Chair and Senior Ombudsman Joachim-Ingo "Ski" Borowski, Volunteer Roger Fortin and Program Support Specialist David St. Germain.
