WALTHAM, MA. June 10, 2010. Tecogen, Inc. is a leading manufacturer of natural gas engine-driven equipment located here in Waltham, MA. The company markets two product lines: TECOCHILL engine-driven chillers in the 25-400 ton size range and 60, 75 and 100 KW TECOGEN cogeneration modules. One of their employees is Mr. Rafael Rivera who is also serving as a Specialist (SPC) in the US Army Reserve, nominated his manager, Mr. Peter Powles for the Patriot Award. Because the award was presented to a company supervisor assigned in New Jersey, the company president, Mr. Robert A. Panora accepted the award for Mr. Powles. On hand for the award in addition to Mr. Panora was David C. Pidgeon, National Service Manager for Tecogen. Both men expressed great pride in SPC Rivera and in his military service in the Army Reserve. Mr. Panora stated that the company prides itself in its military employees who consistently bring the very best quality to their daily efforts for Tecogen, Inc.  

Tecogen also has a marketing group, and an extensive service network with service employees in several major metropolitan areas across the United States.  

The National Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) is a Department of Defense agency established in 1972. The mission of ESGR is to gain and maintain employer support for Guard and Reserve service by recognizing outstanding support, increasing awareness of the USERRA law of 1994 and resolving conflicts through mediation. The MA Field Office has more than 40 volunteers dedicated to helping every "Citizen Soldier". On hand representing MAESGR were Volunteer Roger Fortin and Program Support Specialist David St. Germain.
