STOUGHTON, MA. June 4, 2010. The Shaw Group Inc. was founded in 1987 as a fabrication shop in Baton Rouge, LA by Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer J. M. Bernhard Jr. and two colleagues. Today, the company has more than 28,000 employees. The Shaw Group's core values have remained constant-honesty in decision-making, personal responsibility and accountability, and leadership by example. These principles are at the heart of their ability to create and respond to opportunities and have fueled their dramatic growth.

SPC Sean P. Galligan, Army National Guard and an employee of the group, recommended the company for The Patriot Award. In accepting the Award for The Shaw Group, Arthur Fitzpatrick, Chief of the Electrical Engineering Division, stated; "The Company supports its military member employees with policies and programs to further their military membership and are consistent in following up on these employees when they are mobilized by maintaining contact with their families here at home and by staying in touch with the employee during their period of mobilization thru e-mail and packages. We have a number of employees who are serving in the Guard & Reserve!" On hand for the presentation in addition to Mr. Fitzpatrick were Karen Brown, Director of Human Resources and Charles Cronan, Executive Director and Manager of Products.

The Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) is a Department of Defense agency established in 1972.
