VOWS BRIDAL OUTLET IS HONORED WITH THE SEVEN SEALS AWARD

By Bill Napert, Jr. Public Affairs Director, MAESGR

WATERTOWN, MA. July 1, 2010. In December of 2009, Richard & Leslie DeAngelo were thinking about military members and how difficult it must be for them to make long range plans. The DeAngelo's own and operate Vows Bridal Outlet and know the complexities of planning a wedding. They also know that the choosing, fitting and paying for a wedding gown can be taxing on any bride, especially if the bride is marrying a service member or is the service member getting married. Rick and Leslie decided that they wanted to give something back for all of their successes.

At the dinner table with their family that night in December, they decided to give away THREE HUNDRED DESIGNER GOWNS to US Military Brides who are serving our country. They partnered up with the USO in New England to arrange a day where brides who were either in the military or marrying someone in the military could come in, try on as many gowns as they wished, and walk out of the store with their dream gown COMPLETELY FREE. This past March, that day happened and true to their word, Rick, Leslie and their staff fitted and gave a designer gown to every eligible bride who came in. It was the talk of the military throughout New England.

The Massachusetts Field Chair for ESGR, Mr. Tom Boyle, was informed by Mr. Dave St. Germain of this great gift to help our service members. With the strongest recommendation of Mr. St. Germain, Mr. Boyle decided to present VOWS Bridal Outlet with the Seven Seals Award for their selfless donation to all the armed services. On July First, Mr. Boyle asked South Eastern Area Chair and Senior Ombudsman Joachim-Ingo "Ski" Borowski, Mr. Roger Fortin and Mr. David St. Germain to visit Vows and present the prestigious honor. With more than 25 staff, military members, friends and media present, "Ski" Borowski presented the Award to Rick and Leslie.
