TAUNTON, MA. July 6, 2010. Technical Sergeant (TSgt) Christine Sheridan of The Massachusetts Air National Guard is also an employee at the Massachusetts 911 Call Center. She appreciates her supervisor's support on her behalf so much that she put Mr. Frank Pozniak, Executive Director of the facility, in for The Patriot Award. Ms. Sheridan wrote: "The State 911 Center has enthusiastically embraced all of my military requirements including UTA, Annual Training, State and Federal Activations and all my deployments. Mr. Pozniak ensures that I receive the correct benefits and entitlements by working with Human Resources. His focus is taking care of military members and their families. Overall the department is very supportive of my military service, and recognizes the additional training that I receive is an asset to them." At a ceremony in the facility, Mr. Pozniak accepted the honor from Mr. Roger Fortin as five other employees looked on.

Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) is a Department of Defense agency established in 1972. The mission of ESGR is to gain and maintain employer support for Guard and Reserve service by recognizing outstanding support, increasing awareness of the USERRA law of 1994 and resolving conflicts through mediation. The MA Field Office has more than 40 volunteers dedicated to helping every "Citizen Soldier". On hand representing MAESGR were Volunteer Roger Fortin and Program Support Specialist David St. Germain.
