     AVON   MA SERVICE CENTER MANAGER HONORED WITH THE PATRIOT AWARD

                              

  

 

                     

    AVON, MA. July 27, 2010. The United States Aluminum Corporation has a division here in Avon, MA. One of their employees is also a Specialist in the  Army National Guard. Joshua Connolly is proud of his service in the Guard and grateful to his employer. He nominated his manager, Robert Maher, for a Patriot Award. After receiving the award, Mr. Maher stated how pleased he was about receiving this award. He further stated that all he was doing was carrying out his job as facility manager. He strongly feels that all employers in the US should be backing their military member employees 100% He went on to say that Specialist Josh Connolly brought his Army values into his civilian workplace and was an outstanding employee.  

Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) is a Department of Defense agency established in 1972. The mission of ESGR is to gain and maintain employer support for Guard and Reserve service by recognizing outstanding support, increasing awareness of the USERRA law of 1994 and resolving conflicts through mediation. The MA Field Office has more than 40 volunteers dedicated to helping every "Citizen Soldier". On hand representing MAESGR were Volunteer Roger Fortin and Program Support Specialist David St. Germain.
