FALMOUTH, MA. August 2, 2010. Ms. Linda Bishop is the Assistant Manager at the Falmouth Wal-Mart Store. One of her employees, Christopher Cantwell, is also a Sergeant (SGT) in the Army National Guard. When Ms. Bishop was presented with the award, she stated that she knew first hand how important it was to provide consistent support and concern for her employees who are serving in the Guard & Reserve. She is aware of their situation, as she is married to a retired Army National Guard Member. SGT Cantwell wrote enthusiastically that; "Linda Bishop shows outstanding support and patriotism for her members in the Guard & Reserve forces. As for Wal-Mart and my fellow associates, I can't say enough about their concern and support that they have shown me." 

Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) is a Department of Defense agency established in 1972. The mission of ESGR is to gain and maintain employer support for Guard and Reserve service by recognizing outstanding support, increasing awareness of the USERRA law of 1994 and resolving conflicts through mediation. The MA Field Office has more than 40 volunteers dedicated to helping every "Citizen Soldier". On hand representing MAESGR were Volunteer Roger Fortin and Program Support Specialist David St. Germain.
