      TWO GOLDEN NOZZLE MANAGERS RECOGNIZED FOR THEIR SUPPORT

                              

  

 

                     

    WEST SPRINGFIELD, MA. August 4, 2010. The FL Roberts' Golden Nozzle Car Wash on Memorial Drive in West Springfield was the location as three MA ESGR members and two US Air Force Reserve leaders arrived to present the Patriot Award to two of the company's  managers. Both awardees were nominated for this recognition by Brian Albert, an employee and also a Senior Airman (SrA) in the US Air Force Reserve.  

Joining SrA Albert for this occasion were his wife Jessica, and their 2 sons, and Captain (CPT) Jeremy Downer and Chief Master Sergeant (CMSgt) David Carbin from the US Air Force Reserve. The first Patriot Award was presented to Ken Hughes, Senior Manager, at the facility. Mr. Hughes was accompanied by his wife Michele. Mr. Tim Ransom, Location Manager and SrA Albert's immediate supervisor, then received his Patriot Award. Both managers spoke about the high standards Brian brings to his job everyday and that they are proud to be able to support his military service. CPT Downer and CMSgt Carbin stated that supportive employers like Golden Nozzle are vital to our Nation's Reserve Forces.  

Golden Nozzle Car Wash facilities are part of F. L. Roberts and Company which is a 4th generation family-owned business with over 500 employees and 60 sites in Massachusetts and Connecticut. There are 14 Golden Nozzle locations. Other F. L. Roberts facilities include; jiffy lubes, truck refueling facilities, the Whately Diner, gas stations and convenience stores.  

Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) is a Department of Defense agency established in 1972. The mission of ESGR is to gain and maintain employer support for Guard and Reserve service by recognizing outstanding support, increasing awareness of the USERRA law of 1994 and resolving conflicts through mediation. The MA Field Office has more than 40 volunteers dedicated to helping every "Citizen Soldier". On hand representing MAESGR were Volunteer Diane Swain, Ombudsman Director and Western MA Area Chair Earl Bonett and Staff Member Bill Hebert.
