NORWOOD, MA. August 16, 2010. The J.H. Pokorny Associates LLC is a Plumbing Manufacturer's Representative Company. They are a third generation company serving much of New England for over 65 years. Fifteen members of the staff gathered together today as Mr. Richard Pokorny was presented with The Patriot Award by MAESGR Volunteer Roger Fortin. Mr. Fortin then presented a Certificate of Appreciation to J.H.P. Founder, Mr. John H. Pokorny. Both men were recommended for the award by Tom Lincoln who is also a member of the U.S. Coast Guard Reserve. Mr. Lincoln's narrative stated: "Richard Pokorny is highly supportive of my military career and of the active duty obligations required by the Coast Guard Reserve. We work in a small office environment and it is a hardship when someone is out of the office for an extended period of time. Mr. Pokorny enthusiastically supports my participation at all required military training!"

Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) is a Department of Defense agency established in 1972. The mission of ESGR is to gain and maintain employer support for Guard and Reserve service by recognizing outstanding support, increasing awareness of the USERRA law of 1994 and resolving conflicts through mediation. The MA Field Office has more than 40 volunteers dedicated to helping every "Citizen Soldier". On hand representing MAESGR were Volunteer Roger Fortin and Program Support Specialist David St. Germain.
