       LOWES HOME IMPROVEMENTS STORE MANAGER RECEIVES THE PATRIOT AWARD

  

                  

 

                     

    RAYNHAM, MA. September 01, 2010. Private First Class (PFC) Jeremy Kane, Army National Guard, is a valued associate of the Lowes Home Improvements Store here in Raynham, MA. PFC Kane recommended his Store Manager Mr. Peter McCarthy for the Patriot Award. During the course of a staff meeting at the store 35 employees of the store were on hand as MAESGR Volunteer Roger Fortin presented Mr. McCarthy with the honor. In accepting the award, Mr. McCarthy stated how proud he was to be accepting this award. He went on to say that he was accepting the award on behalf of his entire staff. He also stated that Jeremy Kane was an outstanding employee and brought with him valuable training he received as a military member. PFC Kane in his nomination stated that with virtually no notice at all, my manager asked no questions when I explained that I was put on orders for a month and that they would start in just a few days. Lowes Home Improvement Stores is a strong supporter of all Veterans. With proof, all Veterans receive a ten percent discount for purchases up to $2,000.00. 

The National Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) is a Department of Defense agency established in 1972. The mission of ESGR is to gain and maintain employer support for Guard and Reserve service by recognizing outstanding support, increasing awareness of the USERRA law of 1994 and resolving conflicts through mediation. The MA Field Office has more than 40 volunteers dedicated to helping every "Citizen Soldier". On hand representing MAESGR were Volunteer Roger Fortin and Program Support Specialist David St. Germain.
