NATICK, MA. December 16, 2010. They say a picture speaks a thousand words. The recipient of this Patriotic Employer Award was stunned when Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve Ombudsman Rick Bedell told her that one of her employees, John Mulhern, had nominated her and the company for this prestigious award. The recipient was Reyna Symonds who works in the Finance department for BJ's Wholesale Club Inc. The presentation was at their corporate headquarters in Natick MA. John Mulhern, an Army National Guardsman, stated in his nomination; "My company is planning on sending me care packages every month with a personal note signed by the company President."   

 BJ's Wholesale Club Inc. is no stranger to receiving these awards. The company's personnel practices are greatly appreciated by their citizen soldier personnel.   

The National Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) is a Department of Defense agency established in 1972. The mission of ESGR is to gain and maintain employer support for Guard and Reserve service by recognizing outstanding support, increasing awareness of the USERRA law of 1994 and resolving conflicts through mediation. The MA Field Office has more than 40 volunteers dedicated to helping every "Citizen Soldier". On hand representing MAESGR was Ombudsman Rick Bedell.
